Good to hear from you. This is Evan from IMC Uruguay/Italy. I'm also
part of the new-imc working group, the group that helps aspiring IMCs
like yours wade through the details of joining the indymedia network.
Having more active indymedia presence in Salt Lake City, Utah would be
great. I'm excited to hear things are coming together. I'm sure you've
already familiar with the information at
"http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/NewImcHowTo", which has a
blow-by-blow list of things to do to become an IMC, but if not, taking
a look there is the next step. I'm sure you're already well on the way
to doing many of those things. The key thing to do is organize,
organize, organize. After you're wll organized, joining the network is
a relatively simple process.
Have you been in touch yet with and met the people from the Utah IMC?
If you haven't, that would be a great thing to do as direct dialog is
better than email. You should also get in touch with the folks from
Idaho Indymedia and the Rocky Mountains IMC. They could help you out
in a lot of ways. Indymedia is something you can read endlessly about
but there is nothing like some face to face conversations.
I have a few questions.
Have you been in contact or met with the Utah IMC?
Would you consider merging with them or taking over the site if the
Utah IMC
website is not longer actively being maintained?
What's the background of the groups: A New Dawn Breaking, and
RedCloudThunder
Thanks for dropping us a line at the new-imc working group, and feel
free to be in touch with any questions as you build your IMC.
