title: Rolling Thunder Tour Rumbles into Seattle Aug. 24
Jim Hightower's Rolling Thunder Down Home Democracy Tour makes a stop at
Renton's Petrovitsky Park on Saturday, Aug. 24. The Chautauqua-inspired
event will feature speakers including Hightower, Lori Wallach, Tom Hayden,
Granny D, Norma Kassie and Enron survivors; and performances from Zap Mama,
Fishbone, Medusa, Holly Near, Jim Page, Seattle Labor Chorus and other
musicians and spoken word artists. Local and national activist groups will
offer workshops on Globalization, Civil Liberties, Environmental Justice
and other topics, amidst a celebratory carnival atmosphere.
