i've been visiting the seattle indy media site for some time, and it recently struck me that there is a whole lot of visual competition going on just on the first page. maybe a strong, clean title at the top could set a foundation for the rest of the page... some of the other indymedia sites attempt to do this to a certain extent, especially Vancouver's, Portland's and Belgium's sites. some of these also attempt to personalize the title a bit - adding something unique to the general indymedia logo that reflects the geography of that center. with all this in mind, i tried to create a possible replacement for the two competing images atop the current page.
the image i've attached is 580 pixels wide and 157 high, with a 10 pixel border on the left and right, and 5 on the top and bottom. if you're interested, please feel free to use it, or contact me regarding anything else. i'd be glad to help design the visual format of the site, although i have less experience with the technicalities of anything beyond html.
