Dr. Vandana Shiva's fiery and compelling talks on corporate control of the 
global food supply duting the Seattle WTO protests played a key role in the 
events of that momentous week in 1999. Now she will present her current 
perspectives on these critical issues. Dr. Shiva is a physicist, ecologist, 
activist, and author of many books. She established <a 
href="http://www.vshiva.net/navbrominusphoto.htm">Navdanya</a>, an Indian 
movement for biodiversity conservation and farmers' rights, and co-founded 
<a href="http://www.bijavidyapeeth.org/">Bija Vidyapeeth</a>, a "college 
for sustainable living" north of New Delhi, offering courses by Shiva, 
Arundhati Roy, <a href="http://www.sulak-sivaraksa.org/">Sulak 
Sivaraksa</a>, Anita Roddick, <a 
href="http://www.seedballs.com">Fukuoka</a> and others.

<p>Shiva will speak at the University of Washington's Kane Hall at
