Hi Lance,

After a long morning discussion over the weekend about the use of that 
quote, I'm actually in favor of leaving it as is.  Woody Guthrie meant it 
metaphorically, or poetically, and we do too.

As was mentioned in the conversation -- which covered issues of language, 
literalness vs. poetics, non-violence, etc. -- it's sometimes the job of 
the poet to bring a message alive ... to put tangible/visceral passion into 
language.

(like "Eat the State!")  .. :-))
