Hello to all. The following is information especially for the folks who weren't at last night's meeting.

Details of the December 8th event at Garfield are falling into place. Thousands of fliers about the event have been sent and many more posted around town. A phone-a-thon took place this evening, connecting directly with many of those who had signed the Iraq Peace Pledge, encouraging them to attend. Press releases and public service announcements have gone forth and logistics at Garfield are finalized.

The "details" that are still needing your input AND HELP follow: (Please reply just to me rather than "Reply All" so that we don't overload folks with email.)

#1) We need volunteers to be facilitators for the small group break-out sessions. Instead of going into detail about this here, I'll ask that you let me know if you are willing to CONSIDER taking on this task and I'll send you further information before asking you to "sign on the dotted line". Briefly, you'd be facilitating a discussion of people working to think about how to organize actions against the war in their own neighborhoods. You would receive a detailed script and would need to arrive at Garfield by 12:00 for an orientation.

#2) We need volunteers to do several other "housekeeping" tasks throughout the day. These range from "directing traffic" to being part of the "bucket brigade" collecting donations. Again, if you would CONSIDER taking on some work at the event, let me know and I'll get back to you with specifics of where we are needing people. Only then would we ask you to actually commit. We're asking volunteers for these tasks to arrive by 12:15 so that we are ready to roll when others start to arrive.

#3) We need to know if your organization would like to have a table with information/materials available at the event. There is table space available for each of our coalition members. Please let me know if you are a member of a coalition which would like a table. (I'd rather hear from several people from a coalition than overlook someone so don't worry about duplication of efforts.) Assume that your group will have a table space if you request one. If you can bring your own table, please let me know that as well so that we can plan accordingly. Spaces, by and large will be out in front of the gym under a covered portico.

#4) Whether or not you can be at the event, please do what you can to publicize it among your family, friends and acquaintances. Get fliers from the FOR office and post them around town. Donate what you can to help underwrite the cost of the event. Checks can be written to WWFOR and sent to the
WWFOR office, 225 N 70th Street, Seattle, WA 98103 (Please note that the check is for the SNOW 12/8 event.)

Thanks for whatever you can do. Marcia (206)322-8846
