Seattle, and elswhere

A few questions about the proposal (which is timely
and very cool) though it has already been posted.
<snip>
Congressman Jim McDermott attended, receiving a
standing ovation for watching the political events
closely to see how law enforcement agencies will
handle the potentially large crowds. <unsnip>
McDermott received a standing ovation for watching
what political events closely? He was watching
political events or law enforcement agencies? The link
doesn't really clear up this issue.
In fact the link goes to a page that says "We're
sorry, /pacifica/demnow/dn20020930.html> his recent
stand on the impending war. KCTS was the only major
television outlet covering the event, and they left
early," and that is it. I thought the link in
Brandon's newsarticle was of great interest,
appropriate for the front-page feature and different
because it was a mid-east news source. It directly
addresses McDermott's trip to the mid-east.
I also wondered where the sentence, "During
demonstrations against the IMF and World Bank in
Washington DC on September 27, police arrested at
least 650 demonstrators, including bystanders and
journalists," came from. It seemed out of context.
Additionally the first Not In Our Name link is not
working. Otherwise a belated two thumbs (and big toes)
up! Thanks Susan.
