">Thousands</a> of antiwar demonstrators rallied in Volunteer Park today 
before marching to Westlake Plaza.  With counts of  7,000-8,000 
participating in  the Capitol Hill march, and an estimated 2,000 waiting to 
welcome them at Westlake Park, the <a href=http://www.notinourname.net">Not 
in Our Name</a> protest was likely the largest anti-war rally in Seattle 
since the Gulf War protests of 1991.  <a href=" 
http://seattle.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=18468&group=webcast">Corporate 
broadcast media</a>was predictably disappointing in its coverage.

<p>Close to <a 
href=http://nyc.indymedia.org/archive/features/2002/10/2002-10.html#5371>20,000 
people rallied in NYC's Central Park</a>, while another 10,000 
demonstraters gathered in <a 
href=http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/10/1534440.php>San Francisco's Union 
Square</a>.   The Global Indymedia site is continuing to track protests 
nationwide <a 
href=http://www.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=207183&group=webcast>here</a>. 
Meanwhile, protests continue around the world, including the recent mass 
outcry of 400,000 in London, the <a 
href=http://seattle.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=18441&group=webcast>Pine 
Gap convergence</a> in Australia, and the <a 
href=http://www.indymedia.org/archive/features/current#5344 >"Bombspotting"< 
/a> demonstration in Kleine Brogel, Belgium.
