OCT 26 ANTI-WAR PROTESTS BIGGEST SINCE VIETNAM

Media reports are claiming that the anti-war protests
this weekend could be the largest the US has seen
since the Vietnam War. Major demonstrations in San
Francisco and Washington DC on Oct 26 will attract
thousands of people from all over the nation to
protest the policies of the Bush administration and
US plans to attack Iraq. An international coalition
has formed to oppose the war with protests taking
place in many cities around the US, as well as in
Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, France,
Spain, Germany, India, South Korea, Mexico, Japan, and
Puerto Rico. www.internationalanswer.org (202)

Francisco

The Seattle anti-war protests are being organized by
the No War Against Iraq Coalition

Seattle For Peace www.seattleforpeace.org

The demonstrations will take place at Denny Park (100
Dexter Ave North) at noon on October 26th.

Given recent polls which show that the majority of
Americans do not support Bush’s unilateral policy on
Iraq, organizers say that the recent “Not In Our Name”
protests and other anti-war demonstrations in the US
and around the world have slowed down the US push for
war with Iraq. The theme of this weekend’s events will
be “Stop the War Before It Starts!”. Unlike the
Vietnam War protests, the anti-war movement of 2002 is
already well organized and building momentum even
before lives have been lost due to military
intervention.
