Hi Paul,
I don't think it is technical incompetence, just a
matter of getting used to the interface and how it
works on the web.
Unfortunately I won't be able to post your articles
directly to the website for you. The IMC is a
volunteer run organization and there are many
different aspects to keeping the network running. In
addition to working in order to pay the bills, some of
us are trying to keep the space downtown running
smoothly and the network functioning. This is why we
created the website in a manner so anyone can post
articles.
There are few places where open publishing occurs and
to make the IMC a credible news source the few
editorial volunteers must spend time highlighting the
best work as features. This means a lot of time
combing the newswire for well-written articles, doing
online research and writing the features.
The trade off for a well-connected network with open
publishing is that writers must invest a little bit of
time learning to use the interface. If we were to
personally post all the articles sent to the editorial
collective we would have much less time to do other
necessary tasks.
Surely you have heard the adage, "Give a man a fish
and he will eat for a day. Teach a man how to fish and
he will eat his entire life." I think this fits most
appropriately in the case of the IMCs newswire. I am
sorry that I can't personally post your articles but
will gladly help if you have problems posting next
time.
As I said, just let me know where you were posting to,
when you did it, what the name of the article was, and
what happened exactly.
Sincerely,
Lance
