In the year since Sept. 11 2001, constitutional safeguards protecting free 
speech, privacy and other important freedoms have been eroded or 
disregarded for many in this country. Some communities have been 
particularly injured by new, repressive government policies and overzealous 
enforcement regimes that have targeted people based on their ethnicity or 
religion. On Sept. 21, 2002 in Seattle, city, state and federal 
governmental officials heard moving and damning testimony from Sikhs and 
Muslims, from Somalis, Iranians, Indians, Jordanians, Hispanics and others 
who have been the victims of hate crimes and discrimination in the 
aftermath of Sept. 11.

<p>The Seattle IMC is pleased to offer documentary recordings of this 
significant hearing. The event is divided into five sections, as follows:
