Symphany,
The Seattle Independent Media Center is always in need of
Folks to participate in the many projects and activities at
indymedia.
The best way to get to know people at indy is to attend our
General Meetings, held the first and third Tuesday of each
month from 7PM until 9PM, in our Space, at 1415 3rd Ave @ Union.
New members should arrive at 6:30 to receive a 30 minute
orientation. We hold other meetings on various projects and
issues, and post their times and places on our events calendar.
http://www.calendars.net:8194/IMC_SEA.
Another option is to attend the Thursday night Media Makers
from 6PM until 8PM. Our experienced members share skills
and assist anyone wanting to learn and teach about
community media production.
Our members use e-mail lists to do much of our work, and
all of our lists are located at https://lists.indymedia.org.
You can sign up for local lists, such as the imc-seattle list by
going to the Local USA: Pacific section.
More information on our ongoing projects and information on
how to get involved and who to contact is available on the
volunteer section of our website,
http://seattle.indymedia.org/seattleimc-intro.php3.
The Seattle IMC will hold our next formal volunteer orientation in May. The
time and date will be posted on our events calendar, and announced at the
general meeting before the orientation. The orientation will, of course,
be posted to the main Seattle imc e-mail list, accessible at
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/imc-seattle. You should sign up
for this list to be kept abreast of this and other critical imc
activities.
Were a do-it-yourself kind of place, and that can be
intimidating at times. Our members are committed to plugging
people into their own media production, so we look forward to
working with you to that end.

The Independent Media Center is a grassroots organization
committed to using media production and distribution
as a tool for promoting social and economic justice.
It is our goal to further the self-determination of
people under-represented in media production and content,
and to illuminate and analyze local and global issues
that impact ecosystems, communities and individuals.
We seek to generate alternatives to the biases inherent
in the corporate media controlled by profit, and to
identify and create positive models for a sustainable
and equitable society.

where and anything I should bring with me, the assistance would be greatly
appreciated. Thank You for your time.
