[Seattle-editorial] Time sensitive Below is an article I have written for IndyMedia, and have posted. I feel it deserves review and action by IndyMedia.

Seattle protesters are hoodwinked into believing they will stop George
W. Bush at the August 23rd, 2003 rally at N/E 8th and Bellevue Way.

While in truth, George Bush will be spending his time dining and
laughing at the protesters in their little designated "Free Speech ZONE"
while the rest of America is declared a "Bush ONLY" Speech Zone.  

No George will not hear the cries of freedom, but instead be hobnobbing
with the sleazy likes of Craig and Susan McCaw at there Mansion at 3858
Hunts Point Road in Medina.  At 11:30 AM on the 23rd, Bush will be
asking for more "cash" at a gathering with such noted contributors to
the new regime as Norm Maleng, Jim and John Nordstrom and a host of
other wealthy contributors.  As these business tycoons and hangers on
look to buy influence and curry favor with the dictatorial and
unpatriotic Bush regime.

At 12:00 noon, these patrons of the right will be sitting down to a fine
meal and drinks, while the majority of Americans are worrying about how
to feed their families, or if they will still have a job next week; and
of course our protesters will be quietly demonstrating far away in their
designated "Free Speech ZONE"

>From the beginnings of Freedom in this land, from a time before even the
ink was dry on the Constitution, demonstrations have been for the people
to express their ideas, and protest the decisions of those who make the
decisions; to appeal directly to our representatives for redress of
wrongs, and to right injustice.  George Bush has closed off the only
methods that the average people have of letting the Presidency of the
United States know what it is that a majority of Americans are concerned
about.  White House mail is routinely thrown away, E-mail is censored
and divided into those who approve, and those who don't, and only
supporters are allowed to place a sign or voice an opinion in front of
King George.  The majority of Americans are ushered in to "free speech"
pens, or small gathering sites far from where our representatives are
gathered or will see and hear.

It seems to this activist, that if the People of America want Bush to
understand that we will not allow our civil liberties and FREEDOMS to be
taken away, we need to stand and defend them.  America needs those
people and activists who will stand glaringly in the sight of the
wrongdoers and peacefully say "WE WILL NOT GO AWAY", WE WILL NOT BE
RELEGATED AND ENSLAVED, WE WILL ASSEMBLE, WE WILL MARCH, AND WE DEMAND
EQUAL RIGHTS"  Yes I said  EQUAL RIGHTS, for this is an EQUAL rights
issue.  Just as Martin Luther King Jr. demanded equal rights for African
Americans, and as Susan B Anthony demanded Equal Rights for Women, so to
must we demand Equal rights for All Americans, not just the Rich, or the
Privileged, or the Republican Right wing. 

Our rally cry should be "AMERICA IS A FREE SPEECH ZONE".  For without
Free Speech, America is doomed.  The Right control more than 90% of the
media distribution, and with the media cut off from us, now we have the
streets taken as well.  

So let eh cry go fourth, let us take back America, in the name of the
Majority, and the Minorities, in the names of the oppressed and the
forgotten, the homeless, the veterans the mothers, the sons and
daughters.

Let us rally in peace and freedom, let us march to Mr. Bush and demand
EQUALITY!  Freedom can not be taken from those willing to defend it, and
that truth is witnessed by those who died at Iwo Jima, at Normandy, at
Gettysburg, in the Civil rights Marches of the sixties, and by all those
who refused to give in to tyranny.

If Bush has a problem with Freedom, let him move to Saudi Arabia, or
China, but while any true American yet breathes, the fight to keep and
make America Free must go on.  Do not go peacefully into the chains of
slavery; do not bow to the dictators of tyranny.  Stand tall stand proud
for FREEDOM, for the future, for America and our children.
