[Seattle-editorial] Revised Proposal: Free Speech Zones

I agree with the idea of editing the story to add more hotlinks back to our
own newswire stories... including the original article that got this ball
rolling. I realized I hadn't linked to it on this most recent draft after I
sent it out.
And I also agree with the intent of using more Indymedia articles... But I'm
bad at researching these, so if people would send me useful links I will add
them in later today. Generally I just search for the most poignant articles,
sometimes they are independent, sometimes mainstream.
I am also open to others simply rewriting/editing the story... adding links
etc. That way it gets done quicker. It's what I enjoy best about the
editorial collective idea, as ideally others on the editorial collective can
jump in and do rewrites. Lately it seems to me that the articles are more
singularly authored.
Could someone, anyone answer my question still? I don't think we should post
this story until we can confirm this fact....Reverend Allyn Llyr? You
started all this... where does this info come from?

Subject: Re: [Seattle-editorial] Revised Proposal: Free Speech Zones
Hi everyone.
Gentry, thanks for picking this up and doing some work on it. I'd like to
see the satirical article (of the original proposal) back in here, even if
you think the satirical tone should be dispensed with for the feature. How
about replacing the lead sentence with:
While Dubya visits Western Washington this weekend, he may have a hard time
hearing the cries of protesters, many of whom will likely be corralled into
so-called <a
href="http://seattle.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=31490">"Free Speech
Zones."</a>
Other than that, I like it. Maybe make some more of the text hot-linked to
newswire articles referring to the various protests (one includes a Medina
map I think).
Everyone knows I think it's better to avoid citing mainstream sources, but
I'm not going to raise an objection. I approve Gentry's proposal with the
change I suggested above.
