[Seattle-editorial] Story Proposal

Thumbs up to Gentry's proposals (both of them) here; go Judy and Gentry!

I think that clarifying the story in the feature is important, but i
think it's also okay to say "here's the lead (yadda yadda); read an
account here." especially if we're moving to a hook-and-link feature
format. Details and errata can be posted as comments to the story --
that's a large part of what comments are intended for.

I don't mean that we should post outright lies on the front page. Just
that showing people interesting articles is our role as feature
composers/editors. That the articles may provoke discussion or further
interactive journalism is a good thing.

I think it's okay if the "hook" paragraph is taken fromt he body of the
article instead of the first two as well -- think of what newspapers do
when they take a sensational quote and print it in a block-box with
twenty point type in the middle of an article, to draw you in.

Feel free to experiment, and to think of how to get people to click the
link and read more.

Also there were already a lot of people at Hunts Point by noon. Not sure they came from other street protests (we drove past them on the way to Bellevue). 2) The local news did a terrible job of covering the protests -- not a great job according to reporter (unless I missed something). Channel 4 gave it the most press as far as I could tell. Do others think the local media covered this well?
