[Seattle-editorial] feature responding to geov's weekly article

hi,

geov has unfortunately blended fact and fiction.  
i'm curious if he talked to anyone currently active in the imc. 
by active i mean people who are attending meetings, dealing with the crises, working on what needs to happen to get us out of the current mess, deal with the landlord, pay the bills, finish up the ctc grant, etc.  people who are familiar with what is really going on.
he hasn't talked to any of the spokescouncil, current or recent spokes.
anyone on this list talk to geov?
his article is "almost" as bad as the frontpage magazine recent article.

he needs to be countered on:

- defaulted on lease
- there's nothing official about this at all
- there are 135 imcs not 123
- died is kind of strong - perhaps reborn
- the space wasn't chosen because of the location, it was a space given to us for free and we took it regardless of the location
- the space has not been expensive by any market standards.  by broke grassroots volunteer run organizations, it's been living beyond our collective means perhaps
- "rarely happened" in terms of our dream?  not true.  we have a list of accomplishments.
- story being untouched isn't true - we have an editorial policy

those were the ones that stuck out.  and his analysis of what went wrong.  he makes some good points regarding our failings and he's still frustrated by how things went when ets was a subtenant.  i don't blame him for his frustration.  

but he's got the story wrong.  

i look forward to finding out who were his sources.  i wonder.

i will be drafting up something by tomorrow nooon.
