Troy Skeels had these words to say about a dispatch calendar in action: with my comments after
>>> 2. Create a calendar and dispatch system for coverage of local/regional events.
To systemize it further, someone could keep and distribute weekly a list of what stories are in progress (this would probably never be entirely
accurate, but oh well), and everyone could keep an eye out for stuff not getting covered and add that to the list so folks without an idea might see something they'd like to work on.<<<
Well, if we could get an interactive calendar in place of the current limited feature dispatch cal...if we could make that calendar a TWiki type job site to collaborate, and if we could "pick up" parts of given tasks , to do the pictures, to do the links gathering, searching other sources...then we would be rolling.
It starts with a site so we can do what global does in collective writing. We could have a page saying THESE STORIES proposed //These stories in progress // these ready to approve and post and a check off when they go up.
Similar interactivity is needed for IMC SPACE BOOKINGS calendar. Events are introduced, staff for door and coffee maker sign in, someone takes on posters and publicity, make posts to wire and to features with coordination with booking group and editorial group, datelines can be tracked also...
