Subject: King County Civil Rights Resolution Passed Unanimously!!!

Hello,

The King County Council unanimously passed a resolution in support of civil rights and civil liberties yesterday! King County joins 223 towns, cities and counties and three states in the United States who have voiced their concerns of the USA PATRIOT Act.

I just wanted to thank all of the organizations and individuals who endorsed the resolution*! A special thank you to the organizations that gathered 1000s of signatures in support of the resolution - American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, American Friends Service Committee, Amnesty International USA, Eastside Suburban Peace Network, Radical Women, Seattle International Human Rights Coalition, Seattle Peace Chorus and of course Sound Nonviolent Opponents to War (SNOW) who's members spent hours petitioning and educating residents of King County. Thank you to all of the residents who contacted their Councilmembers asking them to support the resolution! Councilmembers received thousands of phone calls and emails!

To view the final King County resolution go to the ACLU of Washington website (www.aclu-wa.org <http://www.aclu-wa.org>) and click on "Keep America Safe and Free". Also if you or your organization would like to get involved in other resolutions (state or other cities or towns), please be sure to contact us at the ACLU.

Thank you,

Devon Abdallah
