who set up this terminal/server system to begin with?
<rant>
If a decision is made (which I don't recall being notified about) to
make a major change in the network infrastructure it needs to be at
least announced and others need to be trained how to use the new
system. I haven't got a clue where to start troubleshooting the
terminal/server setup that apparently exists now for the public
machines. Plus, the machines in the media lab are meant as media making
machines. If one (Paulo) has now been dedicated as a server for the
front terminals then is probably should not be used as a production
machine and should, in fact, be removed from the lab, which would, of
course, reduce the number of media production machines available.

Perhaps a location int he WIKI can be useful for sorting out such
questions. We already have a Techtodo section of the WIKI. Maybe we
can create also a wishlist section with distinct categories for in-house
hardware, preferred setup, gear to go,...
