hi joseph, jeremy and everyone,
i've just recently emailed imc-tech and listwork about this problem
and i was told that there is an irc meeting tomorrow that will be
focussed on this issue. they are acutely aware of the problem and
are working toward short and long term solutions. part of the
problem is our mail server, sarai, is undergoing some major changes
back in philly and they will need to figure out the next steps in
terms of installing spamassassin that is stable.
from matze on imc-tech in response to my plea for spam control:
hi sheri,
there is a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Sun Mar 30 22:00:00 UTC
2003, to address the spam issue and general problems with the
list-server. unfortunatly we can't offer a short time solution, the
list-server is to unstable. when plugging-in spamassassin some hours
later the server goes down. philly ppl have to go to the datacenter,
which is out of town to reboot the beast, and we can't expect them to
do that daily. tech ppl are aware that the current situation is
unsustainable, and we're trying to change that asap.
so as you can see, it is being worked on and everyone knows it is a
huge problem. it's out of control. but our techies are doing their
best. if anyone has any magic they would like to share, that would
be awesome i'm sure!!
if an update could be sent to imc-tech that would be great. i can
forward it to my local lists and to other lists where people are
frustrated. thanks techies for all your work!!!!!!
peace,
sheri

You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a NEW model that makes the existing model obsolete.
