[Seattle-editorial] need to ban some posters at this point

I've proposed to the list that these three posters get totally removed from
the site:

1. Killing Jews is Good
2. Analog Kidd
3. Puget Sound Patriot

I got very little reply to that original message, but you and Lika have
agreed to help, so I've sent emails to get you started. Call me for the
password.

One problem is that I don't have the time to remove 100 comments by myself,
and then take on their attack by myself. Their attacks will follow their
removal, be sure of it.

So as soon as the two of you can be trained to help, or other people will
commit to helping, I will start hiding these posts. But it could take a
couple months before these jerks move on, or they might simply change their
handles to continue their hate speech. So it'll take vigilance.

I'm loudly voicing my concern that the problem is with the structure of the
posting and editing process. Open-publishing and collective news editing is
ultimately a recipe for burn-out. We need to empower trusted volunteer
editors to remove comments, not necessarily stories. But comments
definitely. We also need to empower people to remove posts that aren't news.
If we want a "free speech" zone, where people can just do this, hey, sure,
why not... but a Newswire isn't a useful newswire unless it contains News.

It was odd today that I went to my whirlmart article just to copy it for
a second, on the IMC Seattle site, and I found almost 40 emails...all on
my why aren't buses free piece from my weblog! The poster calling himself
"analog kid" at email
analogkid at nukevet.com just tyrades endlessly on people...it is
ridiculous. I still have not gotten through all of the list emails and
maybe you are already discussing this guy but at this point, he has
violated enough of the policies re flaming in that one thread off of my
whirlmart article to justify banning him from future postings...in my
opinion. He is clogging the bandwidth with rambling rightwing
crap...anyway, just thought I would testify to the ridiculousness of some
of these posters' behaviors online.

Ironically, the analog kid blasts me for not having a comment area on my
blog. I did not know I could have a comment area, but my god am I glad I
do not have one now, or I would be deleting that idiot off my blog!!!!!!!
THink I will keep the comment button turned OFF on my blog thank you! He
is a perfect example why.
