Hi,
How would you react if a government official called you at work, from your basement, and no one let him in? How would you react if they calmly told you that if you wanted to be there you better "drop what you are doing and get over here?" When you complained at the next city commission meeting, they couldn't even seem to understand what you were upset about, wouldn't you think you were in Iraq? Let me be clear, they did not have an emergency, an appointment, permission, or a warrant! It happened to me. We live with this abuse here in the US, and we are desperately asking for your help!
If you go to any town in America, there are rumors of misconduct by the government. In the small town of El Dorado Kansas we don't just have rumors - we have tape recorders. The citizens of this community are in a desperate struggle to end the abuse they endure. We beg you: help us!
It doesn't really matter what kind of misconduct makes your blood boil. It has probably happened in El Dorado, and there is a good chance we have it on tape.
Would it make you mad if government officials threatened you with public humiliation?

Does it make you mad when city officials violate citizens fourth amendment rights (unlawful search) and don't even see anything wrong with it?

Does it make you mad when city officials (mayor, commissioner) chuckle as they say they don't want all the evidence to make their decisions?

How would you like the city to try to condemn your house as political payback, but they cant even keep their story straight.

Does it make you mad when city officials make up requirements that prevent a citizen from making repairs to a property (repairs they demand he make), but then lie about it to the city commission?

Does it make you mad when citizens accuse their government of misconduct?
GREAT! Then try to prove us wrong. After you have done everything you can do to convince yourself the city of El Dorado conducts its business with integrity, we will welcome your support. Our strongest allies started out being suspicious.
We have tried desperately to end this through private means. The city manager has said that citizens are not allowed to address the city commissioners at work sessions or in executive session. Thus far, there have not been enough votes on the city commission to bring this to an end.
Once you've visited our site, it will be obvious: we are amateurs. We need your help. This has gone on for years. How does it continue? In my opinion, the fact that the Mayor recently sold a piece of property to the city for $180,000 even though the county had only appraised it for some $59,000 is part of the reason. Another is that one of the sitting commissioners sells thousands of dollars of "stuff" (you name it) to the city. He can't afford to stop this.
People here are threatened with jail if they go to the press. For example I put a political sign on a truck. The next thing I knew... the city attorney threatened me (in writing) with 6 months in jail if I didn't take it off.
I made the mistake of publicizing a lot of this and now they are aggressively trying to destroy me mentally and financially.
When we started carrying tape recorders, we didn't use the evidence they gave us. We have waited long enough that city staff can't work around the evidence we have on tape. Waiting this long, and gathering this evidence has cost us. Actually it has devastated us financially. Please do not let that cost go to waste.
Please forward this email to everyone you can. Sooner or later it will get to someone who will help us!
Even if you don't have time to get involved: please just email our commissioners. Tell them where you live, and that you have heard about the situation. Ask them if it is real. If they deny anything, please forward it to us.
Here are the email addresses for all of our city commissioners:
Mayor Connie Phillips, Com. Linda Clark, Com. Mike Fagg, Com. Brian Shepherd, Com Oral Taylor

If you would like to email our city manager Stan Stewart, he can be reached at: sbscmgr at eldoks.com
If you would like to call them, the phone number for El Dorado City Hall is 316-321-9100.
If you would like to be removed from our mailing list, reply to this email and put remove in the subject. But seriously arent you curious what evidence well present next?
Thank you!
Jerry Blount
