This statement: seattle.indymedia.org/en/2004/02/238096.shtml was approved
by the collective last weekend and completed by a committee including me,
Brenna, Sheri and Zapata.

The summary below is condensed from the letter--however since it's a
little different, I cc'd Sheri, Zapata and Brenna to make sure the

FEATURE PROPOSAL:

title: Seattle IMC Takes a Break- Website Remains Active

Responding positively to several months of organizational difficulties,
members of the Seattle Independent Media Center have decided to take a
three-month break in order to allow IMC volunteers to reflect, pay off
debts, heal interpersonal divisions, and re-connect with the greater
community. While the Seattle IMC website remains active, workshops and
most other public events have been suspended. The group has closed down
its original location in downtown Seattle.

<p>After three months, the group plans to hold community discussions
leading towards the reorganization of Seattle Indymedia as a vibrant,
community-based grassroots media resource. All interested community
members will be invited to participate in this fresh start: a new
opportunity to use media production and distribution as tools for
promoting social justice in our region.
