Yes for Seattle / Save Seattle Creeks supporters:
Here is a real opportunity -- environmentalists and
developers working together to save Thornton Creek
and create smart growth. Hope to see you next Thursday.
REVIVING THORNTON CREEK:
TRANSFORMING NORTHGATE
A NEW DESIGN CONCEPT!!
Come see a creative new (draft) design for restoring
Thornton Creek through the south lot of Northgate
Mall. The plan from landscape architect Peggy Gaynor
opens a green pedestrian corridor through Northgate,
returns a cleaner, healthier stream to the watershed,
and showcases a successful integration of stream
preservation and urban development. This
COLLABORATIVE DESIGN is the product of a cooperative
effort, with TCLDF, Lorig Assoc., and technical
consultation with SPU.
Northgate developer Bruce Lorig's preliminary plan for
building mixed retail and residential space adjacent
to the restored creek will also be on display.
Seattle City Council members Nick Licata and Richard
Conlin are your hosts and featured speakers.
