Dear Editor,

Attached is a press packet in pdf format about a new artistic and
political endeavor to reshape the Democratic Party into a progressive
party with a backbone.  It is the Backbone Campaign, a group of Vashon
Island artists and political activists seeking to reclaim and embolden
the Democratic Party. 
 
Our message is positive, progressive and empowering, and we use art and
humor to convey our message.  Though locally based, we are spreading
this campaign across the country and the enthusiasm for it has been
great.

We hope to interest you in our grassroots campaign and we hope that you
will consider producing a news piece about the Backbone
Campaign.
