more info:

the attbi --> comcast  transition has not yet been completed, and my own 
home IP, stable for a long time, just changed too.
it went from a    xxyyyzz.attbi.com   name to    
c-xx.yy.zz.aa-comcast.net   name.

can probably expect changes on the cable modems.
