Friends,
I urge folks to read and respond to the following suggested
requirements for membership in the SEAIMC Editorial Collective.
We want to solidify the existing requirements and clarify them for
folks not familiar with indymedia's ways.
___________________
Membership in the Ed. Collective is derived by working within the
group and gaining the trust of the Members.
Those members who have worked with Editorial and gained voting
privileges:
1)
Have asked to be an active member at a regularly scheduled WG
meeting and received the consent of the existing Members. The
decision to admit or not will be voted upon at the next meeting
attended by the applicant, and the method will be by consensus 1.
2)
Engage in actual work in support of the Editorial Collective, in
collaboration with existing Members. This will include but not be
limited to clerking the wire, maintaining our e-mail lists and other
forums, engaging in online discussions and decision making,
assisting the community in the use of our website to publish their
works, and networking with others to increase community
participation at Editorial.
3)
Will be considered to enjoy continued membership as long as the
member continues to participate. The Editorial Collective will
re-affirm membership twice yearly, in July and in January, and will
re-issue passwords to all current members at that time. No person
who is not a Member shall have access to the websites editorial
interface, except for those individuals who have been determined to
require access to provide support and maintenance.
4)
May have their privileges revoked by the Editorial Collective at any
time. Only a Member may request that another member be excluded, and
a vote will be taken at the next Editorial WG meeting upon such
request. All current and present members may vote, and the method
shall be by consensus 1.
