I oppose censorship, and "five strikes and you are out" is a form of 
censorship.  Voting -- without the threat of deletion -- is a way of 
encouraging reader participation and could control the more abusive 
comments.   If comments were rated (a la Slashdot) and then displayed 
on the page Highest Scores First, then the more insightful or 
informative comments would rise to the top.
