[Seattle-editorial] Newswire list-what's the alternative?

Eds.,

I am writing to inform the Editorial WG that the clerking of the
wire is requiring communications between Ed. WG Members that is of
concern to the whole WG, but is not for public consumption.

We have trolls and stalkers who are threatening our work, and who
are causing Members to voice concern for their own safety and
security. I share these concerns.

This includes, well, things that we can't talk about here. Active
Editors are working despite the inability to use existing tools,
specifically, the newswire list.

The newswire list was created to allow us to talk online privately,
and to allow all full Members to participate and keep abreast of
events on the newswire and elsewhere at Editorial.

Work continues at Editorial, and I seek solutions to this issue.
Perhaps this is not of interest to anyone else, but all now know
that I personally would feel better if we could increase the
quality of our secure communications, and share the workload at the
same time.

Of course we are able to discuss these issues at the weekly
Editorial meetings, but timeliness and inclusiveness is wanting.
The desire to be open and transparent and accountable is not
wanting.

Speaking for me, and those who ask for increased security of
communications within the group,

Sincerely,

Joseph
